Luis Gonzalez - is Valued at $47,500 and is Available!
World Series hero Luis Gonzalez finished his career with 596 doubles, 15th on the all-time list. He led the major leagues with a whopping 57 home runs in 2001 and finished with 354 homers and nearly 2,600 hits for his career. However, he is best known for his bloop single off New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera, the walk-off hit that sailed over Derek Jeter's head to lift the Arizona Diamondbacks to a Game 7 victory in the 2001 World Series.
Joseph Malara created only two sculptures of Gonzalez. One is owned by Gonzalez and the other is for sale here. This timeless work of art is hand-painted with a 24-karat gold overlay and comes with pictures of Malara and Gonzalez. This sculpture is mounted on a custom double-granite pedestal with a glass dome top. The baseball was purchased and signed by Gonzalez and the sculpture was signed by Malara.
A five-time All-Star, the fan favorite known as "Gonzo" retired after the 2008 season and will soon be eligible for the Baseball Hall of Fame.
